Jewelry Care
We love you as much as you love our jewels, so we want to make sure you take the best care of them.
Here are a few things to remember:
To increase the longevity of gold plated jewelry you must avoid showering, swimming, working out and applying chemicals/liquids to gold plated jewelry. Failure to do so may expose the base material (silver or raw brass) of the jewelry.
Always remove gold plated rings before washing your hands.
We suggest storing your jewelry in a safe & dry place when not being worn. Avoid leaving them in direct sunlight and in humid conditions.
Do not overstretch bracelets & adjustable rings when taking them on and off.
Always wear the rubber earring back on your earrings to prevent loss.
All WBS Jewelry is made Nickel & Lead free. This is important and something we pride ourselves on. Nickel can be toxic to the human body and many people are allergic to it. This also makes our jewelry safe for sensitive skin!
Gold Plated: Jewelry is coated in a layer of gold on top of a base metal (usually silver or brass). All Wrapped. By Sav gold plated jewelry is plated in a THICK layer of gold over the base metal.
Gold Filled: Jewelry is coated in an even thicker layer of gold bonded to the base metal. More durable but still needs special care because it is not solid gold.
Tarnishing/Turning: This is when the jewelry changes color, turns green, causes irritation to your skin and leaves your skin discolored. Wrapped. By Sav Jewelry will not do this, it will not cause discoloration or irritation to the skin
Fading: Normal with higher quality gold plating when exposed to liquids and outside factors over time as detailed above. The jewelry still looks good and can be worn, but the layer of gold is worn down over time and the base metal of silver or raw brass is exposed. This will happen to ALL gold plated jewelry no matter where you buy it from, and can happen to gold filled jewelry over prolonged periods of time.
